It Won’t Be Long

Rain is falling and the wood stove is keeping us warm and dry, but we’ve got most of the garden in and the sun will be back any day now. We’re finishing work on a new batch of songs for Nòs Dois and our new incarnation, Shinbone Alley, and the next few months are going to be busy.
Check our calendar for details, but we’ve got lots of duo dates coming up in Oregon and Washington, performances by Choro da Alegria and Ash Creek, my new project with Tim Howell, and solo sets by Clayton and Pam.
We’ll send some e-mail reminders shortly, but in the mean time, stay in touch and keep supporting live music.

We’re Having Fun Now!

I spent Thursday at the Schtood, Ivan Rosenberg’s fine studio, working on my CD. We’re aiming for having the studio work done by December, which means it should be available some time early in the New Year. I’m just a little excited!
Meanwhile, on Sunday, October 16 I’ll be playing some folky, country-fied bluegrass with some friends at Plumper’s Pumpkin Patch and Tree Farm, near the intersection of Old Cornelius Pass and Skyline http://www.plumperpumpkins.com/ We start at 1:00.
Next weekend, Nòs Dois will be back at the Orenco Station Farmer’s Market, and we’ll wrap up the Farmers’ Market season on October 30 at our own local market at Hillsdale.
We’d love to see you one more time before things settle down!

Barn Bash at Heisen House Vineyards

Last Saturday the folks at Heisen House invited us out to play the afternoon shift at their annual event to raise funds for restoring their historic barn. It goes without saying that we had a great time–the weather was sunny but cool and the atmosphere, as always, was warm and friendly–but the really exciting part was seeing all the great work they’ve done since last season.

Here we are playing on the new outdoor stage:

The restoration work on the barn is just plain amazing–there’s a stage in there, too–and more so since Michele and Chris were a little busy over the winter welcoming their new daughter into the world!

Here’s a link to this summer’s events:

and don’t forget there’s live music from 7-10 every Friday evening, with breathtaking sunsets, and superb wine, of course.

Nòs Dois will be there on Friday, July 15, but there’s no need to wait until then if you’re in the area.

Best summer wishes to all!

For us, it was a crazy weekend!

We had a great time playing for the Veterans For Peace FunRaiser. It was very moving hearing Brian Willson speak there about his experiences as a peace activist. On Sunday, we played at the Hillsdale Farmers Market, where we always have a great time. Then, Chris had a lesson with mandolin genius Don Stiernberg, who happened to be in town for a workshop. Come see us soon to hear all the stuff he learned!

Welcome to our new web site!

I’m amazed by all the things our new site can do—if I can only learn how to use them. Our web sensei, Bill Scheider, has done an extraordinary job pulling all the threads together, making it look great, and gracefully putting up with all our totally unreasonable requests. This is gonna be fun! Check back in with us soon!
